Seafarers likely to use fast rescue boats.
Required Background
– Persons holding the certificate of proficiency in survival craft (CAEERS, ex BAEERS).
– Persons holding a medical certificate from the Maritime doctor mentioning Fit to work at sea, not older than 12 months.
Objective
Obtain the statement of proficiency for the operation of fast rescue boats.

24 hours over 3 days, including 8 hours of theory and 16 hours of practice

– General aspects on rescue boats
– Launching and retrieving
– Rescue boat manoeuvring
– Launching and manoeuvring in heavy weather
– Rescuing methods requiring a helicopter
– Hypothermia
– Portable radioelectric equipment
Practical training :
– Operational availability of the rescue boat
– Practice in rescue boat launching and retrieving
– How to deal with capsizing
– Manoeuvring at slow and fast speeds
