Since 2005, ENSM’ s CESAME (Centre for the training of survival and rescue at sea) has trained merchant navy officers as well as currently employed seamen within the amended STCW convention and prepares to certificates for the rescue and survival at sea. It is located Quai du Val Terre-plein des Servannais.

A full Personal Protective Equipment for the trainees is made available by the Academy including : a helmet, gloves , safety boots, inflatable lifejacket, goggles for pyrotechnics exercises and working apparel (overalls, waterproof jacket and trousers).
Personal overalls and safety shoes are accepted subject to being safe for the trainees and respectful of the equipment.
